Perfect for Thanksgiving, Herbed Potato Gratin

Updated: Nov 21, 2022

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I would like to introduce the most yummy potato dish that I learned at my culinary school. This is also a vegetarian dish so anyone can eat it.

"Gratin is a process that involves topping a dish with cheese or buttery breadcrumbs and baking or broiling until crispy."

  1. Slice potato very thin and soak in water for 1 hour.

  2. Dry potato and coat with chopped garlic, oil and salt.

  3. Make sauce: Put heavy cream, nutmeg, butter, lemon peel, milk, black pepper and salt in a small pot and bring to boil and cook for 1 minute.

  4. In oven friendly container, gradually layer with potatoes, thyme, cheese and cream butter sauce alternating.

  5. Set the oven 375 degree and cook 30 minutes with foil cover and another 30 minutes without cover.

<Ingredients> about 4 servings
